On Monday Grace had her 2 week check up! Wow two weeks already! Dang where did the time go? If you don't know already she has given Jason and I a run for our money. Between the Jaundice and the not gaining weight she has really kept us on our toes! Well her coloring is back to normal and she is growing and putting on weight!! When we went to the Dr she was 7 pounds and 9.5 ounces!!! She is still such a good baby (knock on wood) This week was also super fun for Blase. Monday he had school and when i picked him up his teacher said that he was a new kid. Listening to all the directions and well behaved! Then on Tuesday after work my mom came and got him to stay at her house. Then on Wednesday my mom and dad took Blase to Disney! Which he LOVES!! So Jason and I got to spend some one on one time with Grace. Blase came back Wednesday night and then today we were going to go get family pictures done but due to the rain we put it off till next week. The other day Jason and I went to target with Grace and we got Blase the game Hi-Ho Cherry-o and tonight we played it! He loved it! And he won 2 out of the 3 games! So that's what has been going on in our house! :)

Bath time in the Ullrich house has always been such a peaceful time! We are lucky..Blase always enjoyed bath time and he still does. It actually has gotten to the point you have to warn him if its going to be a quick bath or shower because he freaks out! The kid can sit in the tub for hours on end if we would allow. I was not sure if maybe he was just a water child and this was a fluke! But last night after Blase was in the tub for almost an hour. He was full of wrinkles (as he would tell you) I brought Blase to Jason because it was almost bed time and we have to watch "Bubble Guppies" before we go to bed. (Let me tell you that show is as annoying as it sounds! LOL Kristi watched one with us and asked how we manage to even deal with it!) But if its the difference between a nice bedtime and a horrible one i am willing to zone out or find something else to do for a half hour. So last night i brought Blase to Jason and decided that it was time to give Grace a bath. I was a little unsure what was going to happen but both my kids are water babies! She willingly went into the sink/tub and relaxed for the whole half hour! She got a little mad when it was time to wash her but other than that she was just chilling! I do have to admit that i LOVE the smell of a freshly bathed baby!

Well on March 13, 2011 at 2:24 pm Grace decided to make her entrance into the world..And what an entrance it was!
Jason and I we admitted into the hospital around 3 am and that is when the adventure started! As soon as they hooked me up to the monitors he heart beat was low (we think i was not hooked up correctly) But all of a sudden the room was full of nurses and they are getting ready to give me some type of shot to stop the contractions..Finally he heart beat comes back up and they call the Dr. He orders a Biographical Survey Sonogram. Well everything checked out crisis averted! Around 6 am my water broke! Wahoo progress! Dr comes in checks me everything is looking good! I tried to hold off for the epidural as long as i could. Around 10 am i told Jason that i wanted to get it. Here's another adventure! They come in and explain all the yada yada...And they start...(I've done this before I'm a pro so i thought) The way that they had me sitting it was really hard for me to curve my back like they wanted. The woman doing the epidural ended up stabbing me 6 times! And kept asking me where i feel the epidural! Like i know! Finally after about 5 minutes (felt like forever) i tell the nurse that I'm going to pass out. She takes my blood pressure and it has tanked and now they are asking if i want them to stop! Are you crazy! You've stabbed me 6 times just get it done! Finally, its in! Relief!
Mom got there around 11 am and we are all just talking and relaxing...Blase is with Aunt Jessica and Uncle Big Mikey. Now the babies heart beat starts going a little loopy again. They decide that they are going to put water back into me so that she can get off her cord. They think that the way she was laying every time i had a contraction it pushed her onto her cord and thus lowering her heart beat. Mom asks the nurse about how much longer know that there is really no time line but people are asking! The nurse told her probably about 4 more hours. Mom says that she is going to go call everyone and give them an update. The Dr had just been in and said i was about 6 cm. Well, Grace had other plans! I have a contraction in the 2 min time frame of mom leaving the room and i look at the nurse and say "there is a ton of pressure there" she checks me and now I'm 8 cms! I look at Jason and tell him to call mom don't leave the room. I have another contraction and now there is a TON of pressure. I again tell the nurse (Mom gets into the room now) and she checks again (now mind you this is like another 2 mins) she gets on her phone and calls the Dr. she tells him that I'm ready and she is basically holding the baby in! Dr. Winger enters the room and tells mom that she does not have a chance to leave the room! She takes a spot all the way up in the corner (she doesn't want to see any of the business end!) Winger tells me to push. I pushed 3 times and then she is here! We could not believe that we went from a 4 hour time frame to the baby being here!
So Grace Alexis entered the world at 2:24pm
6 pounds 13 ounces
20.5 inches long
Happy and Healthy!
We were lucky that we were able to get out of the hospital on Monday even though her bilirubin was a little high. They told us that we would have to come back to the hospital on Tuesday to have it checked again. I called our pediatrician and she said that they can do it in the office. So we went and had that done and checked her weight. She was 6 pounds 9 ounces They did not check her weight before we left the hospital so they wanted me to come back on Wednesday to make sure that she is gaining. So they call us with her test results. They said that they were fine. We go back on Wednesday and they just weigh her she dropped again now she is 6 pounds 8 ounces. They tell me to give her a bottle of breast milk every other feeding and to come back again tomorrow! So i do what I'm told actually she got more bottles then boob! (which is fine with me) and i take her back again and thank goodness she is finally gaining! She gained 5 ounces in one day! I'm thinking that she is not latching correctly and that is why she was not gaining. So now she is on the bottle (I'm pumping) which makes it a bit easier because Jason can help.
Blase LOVES his baby sister Grace! He is very lovey with her and always wants to help. He still does not understand that he has to be more careful around her but he is doing better than any of us expected.

Ok well i have been trying to be more creative.... ya i know how crazy am I...I'm about to have a newborn and yet i am trying to be more creative! So i have been looking for nursing covers and i just could not justify spending 34 dollars on one...So yesterday when blase and i were out and about we went to Joann's and i got fabric to make one! It turned out really good! I'm quite impressed with myself. I had also been looking for a car seat cover...but again i could not justify spending the amount of money on one...so i made one! They both turned out really good and I'm very impressed! So now i am thinking about maybe selling them....so thus the reason for this blog...who would be interested in buying one?? I was thinking 12 for the nursing cover and then 15 for the car seat canopy.. Let me know what you all think!!
:) and please say some prayers that this baby gets out!!!!!

10 days and counting (not that im counting down or anything) I cannot believe that we are almost in single digets until this new little one graces us with her presense!! I have been going to the Dr every week for the last 3 weeks and no change! Ugh most frustrating thing in the world! His advice yesterday was to walk! So that is exactly what we did....Jason was not to thirlled about it but he went willingly...We were quite the site...Preggo Lady, Running Toddler, Crazy Jack Russel and a Hubby along for the ride.. Blase loved running on the first part of the walk! He loved that Kosmo was with us and he just had a great time! On the way home he was ready to relax in his wagon and he had someone else join him! (No not me i am trying to get this baby out!)
Also we got some exciting new we got another addition to the family!! A new car! My Elantra was just way to small to fit 2 kids and a double stroller! The stroller did not even fit in the trunk of my car unless you took the front wheels off (which my husband did not see any problem with!) So we had been doing some research and just decided to go and check out what we could afford used. The Elantra is paid off in October and we did not want to have 2 car payments again so we decided that it would be best to trade in Jason's Sentra and then get me a new car and he can have the Elantra....So that is exactly what we did! We were looking at the Santa Fe and then we saw this Rouge. They were both around the same price the Santa Fe had a few more bells and whistles (like leather seats and the trunk was a smig bigger) but the Rouge gets better gas miles....So Jason went for a test drive (I hate test driving cars i get so nervious) and Ricky ended up coming to help us with the negoations and we ended up leaving with a new car!! I love it! She drives so smooth and there is so much room in the trunk and in the back seat...Granted we still cannot fit anymore people in with us because of the car seats and we did NOT want a mini-van but the stroller fits and the kids fit so what more can you ask for!
Well thats about all that is going on right now....hopefully the next update will be of this baby girl!!
Love to all!! :)
